PLAGIARIZING

1. The student cut & copied the text from the source article directly into the text, and made it look like the student wrote something that they did not. The student could have quoted the text that they used and properly cited it. (author, title etc.)

2. Vincent Van Gogh's painting Starry Night uses many abstract designs to create an interesting mix of shapes and colors. The author of the article "A Brief Understanding of The Starry Night Paintings" describes them: " There is the night sky filled with swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent moon. Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with." 


3. One way to avoid plagiarizing is to proofread your work and make sure that you have quoted and cited your sources appropriately. Another way to avoid plagiarizing is to plan exactly what you are going to write long before you write it. Make sure that you don't leave everything involved in writing the paper to the last minute. One more way to avoid plagiarizing is to look at what you're writing to make sure it sounds like something you would write, not what a professor would write.
